95 Beers of Summer: Trois Pistoles

Trois Pistoles from Unibroue in Chambly, Canada

The ’95 Beers of Summer’ series must come to an end as Autumn is upon us. Finishing up this summer-long beer series is a strong Belgian style ale from Quebec, Canada.

One of the darkest beers to appear on the list, this beer from Unibroue shares some characterisitcs to a nice port wine. It is lushisly dark with strong smells of plum and yeast. The alcohol is noticeable on smell, but pleasing.

Tasting this beer is a treat for the senses as you get flavours of plum, clove, berries and mulled fruits. It is a very aromatic beer with a changing, dancing mix of flavours that teases the tongue.

Savour this beer as summer has come to an end. The thick, chewy texture to this beer makes it the perfect beer to enjoy as we transition into the cooler days of autumn. One of my all-time favourite beers.
